About

Occupational health nurses play a critical role in the prevention of work-related injuries and illnesses.  However, there is a shortage as many companies in the past outsourced occupational health which resulted in nurses leaving the specialty.  Nursing shortages related to retiring nurses and nurses leaving the workforce are also a contributing factor. Small and midsize companies have not traditionally employed occupational health nurses.  More recently, the COVID pandemic has emphasized the need for workplace occupational health nursing services in managing employee health and return to work.

Recognizing this need for nursing occupational health services Safe Health Consulting was founded to provide occupational health services on an as needed bases either by referral or by consultation. Once a referral for services or consultation is received, Safe Health Consulting will work collaboratively with employers, employees, health professionals, safety professionals, insurers, and attorneys.  A contact form can be submitted when information only or a callback is requested.

In addition to managing occupational and personal disability absence programs.  Safe Health provides unbiased medical reviews and summaries for independent medical evaluations of occupational and personal injuries, ergonomic assessments, job analysis, and health promotion/wellness programs.  Occupational services such writing employer health and safety policies and procedures are also available.

Safe Health uses an interactive collaboration approach which is especially effective when managing occupational and personal injuries/illnesses with disability.  Ground rules are established so each party understands what is expected with transparency, dignity, and respect.  Communication is open and ongoing, with feedback and documentation being provided in a constructive manner to all parties.
